The Start Of A Band

The award-winning musical centers on Harold Hill, a colorful con man, who travels from town to town posing as a boys' band director - selling instruments and uniforms to the locals, collecting money, and then fleeing town without actually teaching the boys to play. In his efforts to evade prying questions, Harold does, however, bring the town to life, leaving a lasting impression on the local librarian, Marian Paroo.
